Mr. Cardenas received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1998. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2001 from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas and became licensed to practice law in Texas in May of 2001. He is admitted to the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas.

Mr. Cardenas joined Daw & Ray in 2006 as an Associate. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Texas Young Lawyers Association, the San Antonio Bar Association, and the Mexican-American Bar Association. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Cardenas was a licensed peace officer with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. As a police officer, he investigated and gathered intelligence on organized crime, auto thefts, narcotic cases, and vice violations. Currently, Mr. Cardenas is assigned to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Support Division as a lieutenant, assisting in the Training Division by instructing other peace officers in various legal topics.

Mr. Cardenas’ areas of concentration include first and third party insurance defense, premises liability, product defects, personal injury, and premises security cases. Additionally, he has practiced in medical malpractice defense; family law; criminal defense; real estate transactions; and administrative law.
